What are the re-warehousing procedures under STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) units in import export business?

STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) procedures fall under import clearance formalities.

How can one obtain re-warehousing certificates under import of goods or services under STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit)? What are the re-warehousing formalities and how do they work under STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit)?

As mentioned above, the location of STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) units fall under the Customs Bonded Area under the Customs Department of that government. Each good or service being transported into the said area or moving inside or outside has to be informed to the Customs Department for fulfilling all the necessary formalities involved. Any goods or services that are consumed also must be informed and filed in a specific said format with proper accounts registers. Each goods/item must be filled in the register with inward and outward movement details.

After the import certificate is obtained from the said STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) to import goods or services, these units that fall under STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) arranges for the import of goods or services from other countries. Post the completion of ‘pass out order’ formalities, the imported goods or services are transported to specific STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) units which fall under the Customs Bonded Area. This transportation is affected under B17 bond executed with the Customs by STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) units.

Once the goods or services are arrived at the STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) units, there is an intimation sent regarding the same to the Customs Department. The STP (Software Technology Parks) and EOU (Export Oriented Unit) unit authorities then issues re-warehousing certificate once the formality of physical verification is completed. Bond registers are maintained for each and every inward or outward movement of goods or services.
